History of Peace Education Welfare Organization(PEWO)
Peace Education Welfare Organization was founded in 2003 by Nadeem Ghazi who was having a vision to promote quality education to underprivileged and poor students and support parents to continue their children studies in his institution. He initiated PEWO giving tuition classes to children with just four students, and now because of his selfless efforts and continuous struggles; has more than 2500 students in different schools Projects where students are getting basic education under his supervision. He has advanced his vision to provide students safe schools, through peace education where students feel safe, and know hot resolve conflicts, develop understanding and share love with other students. PEWO offers basic education by different segments:
• Early childhood education
• Primary section
• Secondary section
• Matriculation

Over the last 7 years, PEWO enjoys the history of being community organization, committed to work for quality education of the inhabitants of Lyari Town in Karachi Metropolitan City with the main purpose to bring changes in policies with the help of the local people that can lead them towards a prosperous and peaceful society by promoting basic education to young students.

PEWO has the history of working with all segments of society even with little resources and expertise. Therefore, after its 7 years history PEWO felt it necessary to work as an institution with an extended and holistic philosophy of participatory development to help the deprived and marginalized segments of society to have an access to quality education, economical opportunities together with prosperous and peaceful society, With the passage of time, PEWO has developed its capacity to meet and acclimatize the changing environment in its surrounding and work with small donors to facilitate the process of development and smooth delivery of benefits to the communities at large.

Mission Statement
Promoting basic and peace education, Supporting through education to the people living in the backward areas of Pakistan through participatory, sustainable and integrated development initiatives and to promote and advocate the rights of underprivileged and vulnerable sections of the society.


Aims, Goals & Objectives:
1. Promoting Peace Education to the students
a. Peace education is part of the core curriculum in all educational institutions in Karachi.
b. PEWO member schools foster a secure, welcoming and respectful culture in a
school environment where all forms of violence are unacceptable.
c. PEWO provides practical and effective peace education resources that are used by
its member schools.
d. There is a greater awareness of and its goals.

2. PEWO supports schools or educational institutions or organizations for underprivileged students without any discrimination in Public and private sectors, PEWO also helps schools for special children

3. PEWO Provides IT education and accessories to deserving and poor students who cannot afford

4. PEWO promotes environmental sustainability education and awareness to the students and people and how to protect the environment

5. PEWO trains the teachers and students through workshops for usage of English Language & IT

6. PEWO initiates and educate communities into the dynamics of community organizations;
7. PEWO promotes the understanding of the people on education;
8. PEWO helps teachers through trainings to develop modern curriculam on PBL system to enhance students understanding of subjects.
